LIGA.net continues a series of interviews with rectors of Ukrainian universities. The next interview is with Anatoliy Melnychenko, Rector of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute .

professor Melnychenko, 45, won the election of KPI rector in 2024. Before him, the university had been headed by academician Mykhailo Zgurovsky since 1992. He was criticized for the poor condition of dormitories and academic buildings, as well as for the transfer of university land for the construction of the Genesis residential complex

However, the main complaint is the quality of education. KPI graduates are less likely to recommend their university than former students of other universities. This conclusion was made by DOU, a publication for the IT community, based on several years of surveys of university graduates working in information technology. (It was about IT faculties).

Correspondent Volodymyr Fomichov talked to the new rector about how he is overcoming Zgurovsky's "legacy" and what he is doing to improve the state of the KPI.
