A plant to produce missiles for Korean counterparts of HIMARS will be built in Poland

Poland and South Korea have signed an agreement worth about 14 billion zlotys (3.3 billion euros) to jointly produce missiles for the HOMAR-K installation on Polish territory. About reported Ministry of Defense of Poland.
The contract was signed between the Polish Armaments Agency and a consortium of Hanwha WB Advanced System and Hanwha Aerospace.
The document provides for the supply of high-precision missiles CGR-080 with a range of up to 80 km made in Poland. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2030.
As part of the contract, a plant will be built near Gozów Wielkopolski in western Poland to be operated by a joint venture between WB Electronics and Hanwha Aerospace.
South Korea has become an important defense partner of Poland in recent years, supplying fighter jets, artillery, tanks, etc.
In particular, in November 2022, Poland signed an agreement under the HOMAR-K program to supply 218 modules of multiple launch rocket systems, their integration with the Jelcz chassis, as well as logistics, training support and ammunition. The total value of the contract was $3.55 billion.
The second agreement was signed in April 2024. It covered the supply of 72 HOMAR-K MLRS modules, several thousand guided missiles with a range of 80 and 290 km, and technical support. The contract is worth about $1.6 billion.
Agreement on establishing a joint venturepoland and South Korea signed an agreement to produce CGR-080 missiles in September 2025.
The CGR-080 is the actual GMLRS analog to the HIMARS. The missile has a slightly larger diameter (239 mm vs. 227 mm), but a similar warhead weighing 90 kg, a range of about 80 km, and a guidance system using satellite and inertial systems.
The HOMAR-K system is based on the South Korean K239 Chunmoo rocket launchers adapted to the needs of the Polish Armed Forces.
Each unit is equipped with two missile containers and can use 239 mm guided munitions with a range of up to 80 km or 607 mm tactical missiles with a range of up to 290 km.
- In August 2025, the Polish army ordered the following for South Korea k2 Black Panther tanks, K9 self-propelled howitzers, K239 Chunmoo MLRS, and FA-50 light aircraft.
