A register of legal online sellers of alcohol and tobacco products will appear in Ukraine

On Wednesday, October 22, the Government approved the procedure for creating and maintaining a register of website addresses of licensees selling excisable goods through electronic commerce. About this said the press service of the Ministry of Finance.

The innovation is intended to create a transparent mechanism for controlling online sales of alcohol and tobacco products.

The Register will include websites of legal sellers of beer, alcoholic and low-alcohol beverages, tobacco products, e-cigarettes, vape liquids, and devices for the consumption of tobacco without combustion.

According to the Ministry of Finance, this decision will allow:

  • protect consumers from illegal and counterfeit products;
  • create equal and transparent business conditions for legal licensees;
  • strengthen state control over electronic commerce in excisable goods.

The register will be open – you can check whether an online store is a legal seller of alcohol or tobacco products on the website of the State Tax Service.

The State Tax Service will be responsible for its operation and updating the data submitted by licensees through the Electronic Payer's Account.

The regulatory act was adopted pursuant to Law No. 3817-IX "On State Regulation of Production and Circulation of Alcohol, Alcoholic Beverages, Tobacco Products and Fuel", which came into force in the summer of 2024.
