Bloomberg: India to cut Russian oil imports to almost zero due to US sanctions

Russian oil supplies to India will soon be reduced to almost zero after the US imposed sanctions on oil giants Rosneft and Lukoil. About writes Bloomberg, citing informed sources.

Representatives of Indian refiners said that after that "it will be almost impossible to continue supplying".
An exception may be Nayara Energy, partially controlled by Rosneft, which may continue to use Russian oil due to contractual arrangements.
India became the main buyer of Russian oil after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, receiving more than a third of its total supplies from Russia. But now the country is forced to reorient itself to the Middle East.
According to the analytical company Kpler, this year India imported about 36% of all oil from Russia, while its share was minimal until 2022.
