Bulgaria has received a postponement of sanctions against the Burgas refinery. So far, from the UK

The United Kingdom has suspended sanctions against the Bulgarian subsidiaries of the Russian company Lukoil. The UK Treasury has issued a general license, which allows Lukoil to continue business operations with Lukoil companies until February 14, 2026.
According to the agency, it is about cooperation with Lukoil Bulgaria EOOD and Lukoil Neftochim Burgas AD, operators of oil refineries and gas stations, as well as their subsidiaries.
According to Reuters, the US will issue a similar license for Lukoil's Bulgarian companies later on Friday.
Boyko Borissov, head of the largest party in Bulgaria's ruling coalition, told local media that he hopes the country will reach a six-month reprieve from US sanctions on Friday.
If the restrictions go into effect on November 21, it will potentially lead to a fuel crisis in Bulgaria, as Lukoil operates a refinery in Burgas, several fuel storage facilities and hundreds of gas stations in the country.
Earlier, Reuters, citing Bulgarian authorities, wrote that the country has 35 days of gasoline and 50 days of diesel fuel left.
- on November 14, a law came into force in Bulgaria that allows the state to take control of the assets of the Russian company Lukoil. The document has already been officially published, which means that all the rules set forth in it are now binding.
