EU imposes sanctions against 41 more vessels of the Russian "shadow fleet"

The European Union has imposed sanctions on 41 more vessels of the Russian "shadow fleet", which it uses to circumvent Western restrictions. About said press service of the European Council.
"This measure is aimed at non-European tankers that are part of [Russian dictator Vladimir] Putin's so-called 'shadow fleet' and circumvent the oil price cap or support Russia's energy sector, as well as against vessels responsible for transporting military equipment for Russia or involved in the transportation of Ukrainian grain and cultural property stolen from Ukraine," the statement said.
These vessels are prohibited from entering EU ports and from providing a wide range of services related to maritime transportation.
Thus, the EU sanctions list now includes almost 600 shadow fleet vessels.
"The EU remains ready to increase pressure on Russia and the entire value chain of its 'shadow fleet', including through further sanctions," the European Council added.
