The High Anti-Corruption Court on Thursday, September 4, chose a measure of restraint against SBU General Ilya Vityuk. He is suspected of illicit enrichment and false declaration of.

The court partially granted the SAPO prosecutor's motion and imposed a bail of UAH 9 million on Vityuk. The court also imposed relevant procedural obligations on the suspect.

The prosecutor asked the court to impose on Vityuk a preventive measure in the form of bail of UAH 42 million.

The investigation claims that in December 2023, Vitiuk purchased an apartment for UAH 21.6 million and registered it in his wife's name. At the same time, according to the contract, its value is UAH 12.8 million. To substantiate the origin of part of the funds, the family member stated that he earned them as an individual entrepreneur, although the relevant services were not provided.

In addition, there is no confirmation of the origin of the remaining UAH 8.8 million spent on the purchase of the apartment.

One of the sources of evidence is correspondence in messengers, which was seized from the realtor's phone, notes Anti-Corruption Action Center.

When the Vityuk family expressed a desire to buy an apartment, the general's wife warned the realtor that she would coordinate the purchase with her husband. She also asked if there could be a bargain and if a minimum payment through a bank was possible. Later, she wanted to see the apartment with her husband .

After that, according to the prosecutor, the realtor sent her wife a preliminary contract, which specified the seller of the apartment and the amount of $600,000 (over UAH 22 million).

After the minimum discount, the price of UAH 21.4 million was subsequently indicated, but the second paragraph stated that by agreement of the parties, the estimated value was UAH 12.7 million.
