Hourly Power Outages Canceled Across Ukraine – Ministry of Energy
updated
Hourly power outages for household consumers have been canceled nationwide, Deputy Energy Minister Mykola Kolisnyk announced during a broadcast of the United News telethon.
"Measures have been taken as quickly as possible to prevent emergency shutdowns caused by the shelling. Currently, hourly blackouts have been canceled across Ukraine. However, there remains a possibility that power outages may resume during the day in the relevant regions," he said.
At the same time, power restriction schedules for industrial consumers remain in place as a necessary measure to balance the power system.
Kolisnyk noted that as a result of another massive Russian missile strike, several settlements were left without electricity.
"The most affected areas are in Vinnytsia region – more than 400 settlements remain without power. In Dnipropetrovsk region, 125 settlements are affected, 148 in Zaporizhzhia region, and there are also damages in Lviv region," the Deputy Minister added.
During the night of October 30, Russia once again attacked thermal power plants in various regions, severely damaging equipment. In Vinnytsia region, the attacks also struck civilian and critical infrastructure, residential buildings, and vehicles. Following the strikes on energy facilities, emergency and hourly outages had been introduced across all regions of Ukraine.
- Since the beginning of autumn, Russia has sharply intensified its attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, forcing authorities to impose blackout schedules across the country.
