After his speech in Davos, Henry Jullien's website could not withstand the influx of visitors.
The Henry Jullien factory, founded in 1921 and located in the municipality of Long-le-Saunier (Jura department), has been part of iVision Tech since 2023.
The company employs about ten people, who produce approximately 1,000 such glasses per year. The production of one pair can take up to four months.
iVision Tech President Stefano Fulkier said that Macron's office contacted the company in 2024 to purchase a pair of glasses as a diplomatic gift for the G20 summit, as well as another pair personally for the head of state.
"I said I would gladly send him a pair, but I was told no. He didn't want to accept them as a gift, but wanted to purchase them in person. The French president was very particular about the glasses being entirely made in France," said the president of iVision Tech.
- The reason for Macron's appearance in glasses was a subconjunctival hemorrhage in his right eye, which his entourage described as a minor issue.
