German automaker Mercedes-Benz reported a decline in profits in the third quarter of 2025, but confirmed its forecast for the full year. About it reports Mercedes-Benz press service.

The company attributed the weaker results to the impact of US trade duties and a slowdown in the Chinese automotive market.

Mercedes-Benz posted a net profit of €1.19 billion in the quarter, down 31% year-on-year (€1.72 billion). Revenue decreased by 6.9% to EUR 32.15 billion.

Nevertheless, the results were slightly better than analysts' expectations. The profitability of the main automotive division in the third quarter remained almost unchanged at 4.8% versus 4.7% last year.

The company's results were affected by duties on imports of European cars to the United States imposed by the administration Donald Trump. Initially, they were 25%, but were later reduced to 15% after the trade deal.

Mercedes-Benz is trying to minimize losses by reducing its inventory of cars in the US market.

Another challenge is weak demand in China, where consumers have become more cautious due to economic uncertainty and local producers are engaged in price wars for customers.

Despite the difficult situation, the company confirmed its forecast for 2025: it expects annual revenue to be "significantly lower" than last year, and the profitability of the automotive business to remain in the range of 4-6%.
