No bidders again for Motordetal-Konotop privatization

For the second time, the State Property Fund has failed to privatize the Motordetal-Konotop plant, a major industrial enterprise confiscated from Russian Senator Sergei Kalashnik. As in March 2025, no bidders showed up for the large-scale privatization auction, according to the Prozorro.Sale system.
The starting price for the company, located in Konotop (Sumy region), was set at UAH 268.07 million.
The enterprise also has outstanding liabilities of nearly UAH 39 million.
The plant manufactures cylinder liners for trucks, cars, ships, compressors, tractors, and diesel locomotives. During the full-scale war, by the end of the first quarter of 2025, it sold products worth UAH 1.36 billion, of which UAH 1.24 billion was exported. Its clients include Rolls-Royce, Scania, MAN, Iveco, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Renault, and CAT.
In 2024, the company reported a net loss of UAH 13.5 million on revenues of UAH 455.58 million.
The privatization asset includes 56 real estate properties with a total area of 89,500 square meters (production, warehouse, and administrative buildings), four land plots covering 23.6 hectares, 55 vehicles, and 2,469 units of equipment and inventory.
- Sergei Kalashnik is a senator of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation from the Kostroma region. He voted in favor of recognizing the so-called "LPR" and "DPR," and after the start of the full-scale invasion, supported federal laws legalizing the occupation of Ukrainian territories. Kalashnik supplied automotive engine components from a Ukrainian-controlled enterprise to Russia, which were later used by the Russian military-industrial complex in the production of military equipment.
- On August 10, 2013, the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC), under the sanctions law, confiscated 100% of the authorized capital of Motordetal-Konotop LLC, which indirectly belonged to Senator Kalashnik, in favor of the state.
