SAPO reports data leak in Mindich case

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office announced the leak of data in the case of a longtime ally of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, co-owner of Kvartal 95 LLC Timur Mindich. According to an investigation by Ukrayinska Pravda, the first deputy head of the SAPO, Andriy Sinyuk, may have had access to the data.
According to the publication, Sinyuk, who was acting head of the SAPO in the absence of Oleksandr Klymenko, repeatedly met with lawyer Oleksiy Meniv, who turned out to be Mindich's neighbor.
Sinyuk himself told UP journalist Mykhailo Tkach that he had not studied the case files involving Mindich. And he once studied with Oleksiy Meniv – they have only friendly relations.
After Ukrayinska Pravda published the investigation, the SAPO said that the head of the agency, Oleksandr Klymenko, had set up a commission "for an internal investigation into the possible leakage of data from the pre-trial investigation of the NABU and the SAPO" on the morning of November 10 .
This decision was made by the head of the SAPO based on a report by one of the SAPO prosecutors, who "provides procedural guidance in the investigation of a large-scale corruption scheme in the energy sector and a number of other cases," according to a statement.
- on November 10, NABU and SAPO announced that they were conducting a large-scale operation to expose corruption in the energy sector: it took 15 months, about 1000 hours of audio recordings were listened to to document the activities of a "high-level criminal organization.".
- The case was named "Midas". All NABU detectives are involved in searches at 70 addresses. Wiretap recordings were published, in which three people under the pseudonyms "Rocket", "Tenor" and "Carlson" appear. Mindich managed to leave the territory of Ukraine before the searches.
- According to sources LIGA.net , the corruption scheme to influence strategic public sector enterprises, including Energoatom, caused losses of $100 million.
