On November 17, 2025, Radomir Kurtić, a representative of the Serbian state defense company Jugoimport SDPR, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Moscow, Serbian media outlets Blic and RTS reported. According to available information, Kurtić was discovered deceased on a street in the Russian capital.

The Serbian Security Service and the Security and Information Agency (BIA) have informed President Aleksandar Vučić about the circumstances of Kurtić’s death. However, the Russian authorities have not yet provided official forensic reports to the Serbian side.

Kurtić was in Moscow in his capacity as a representative of Jugoimport SDPR. Following the incident, a company commission inspected its Moscow offices and found that a significant number of documents and hard drives were missing from the computers.

Russian investigative authorities have not provided official explanations to either the Serbian embassy or the company’s representative office.

President Vučić stated that Serbia has officially requested information from Russian authorities and is awaiting a full report. He emphasized that the Serbian side lacks sufficient data to draw conclusions and does not want to speculate, but insists on uncovering the truth. Vučić also noted that the disappearance of data carriers may not be directly related to Kurtić’s death and could result from “routine actions” by special services.

  • Jugoimport SDPR is a Serbian state-owned company and one of the largest defense companies in the region, engaged in the trade of arms, defense equipment, and military technology transfer.
  • Earlier this year, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service accused Serbia of continuing to supply ammunition to Ukraine, despite Serbia’s officially declared neutrality.
