The Cabinet of Ministers allowed critical enterprises to create their own air defense groups

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved an experimental procedure allowing critical enterprises to create their own air defense groups under the direction of the military command, reported Ministry of Defense on Wednesday.
This opportunity will primarily be available to enterprises that provide energy, communications, transportation, water supply, and other strategic sectors. Participation in the project is also open to enterprises "that have the necessary resources and comply with security requirements."
The groups will operate exclusively under the command of the Air Force in a unified command and control system.
"Critical infrastructure enterprises can join the state air defense system under the leadership of the military command. For the first time, the state opens such an opportunity for them and supports their efforts," the minister said in a statement Denys Shmyhal.
Enterprises will be able to purchase or receive air defense equipment by decision of the military command or through procedures agreed with the Ministry of Defense.
Members of the air defense teams will be vetted by the SBU.
