The Cabinet of Ministers obliges gambling businesses to stop the game if a player shows signs of addiction

The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a resolution establishing new rules for the gambling business. Its main goal is to protect citizens from gambling addiction (ludomania). About it said the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
From now on, gambling organizers are obliged to monitor the behavior of players. If they notice signs of addiction, the game will be stopped for that person, although they will receive the winnings.
Players will also be able to block their accounts on their own, after which participation in the game and replenishment of their accounts will become impossible.
In addition, participants should set limits on the time and amount of the game. The organizers are obliged to regularly remind players how much they have already spent and offer them to pause.
The resolution also provides for mandatory information about the risks of gambling addiction, counseling for addicts, and clear criteria for determining pathological gambling behavior.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation explained that the document is aimed at systematically resolving a problem that has remained out of control for years.
"From now on, the organizer cannot just watch when a person loses control. They are obliged to react, terminate the player's participation if there are signs of addiction, and provide contacts of services that will help solve the problem," the Ministry of Digital Transformation added.
