The High Court of England has set new personal spending limits for the former owners of PrivatBank Ihor Kolomoisky and Gennadiy Boholyubov. According to Judge Trauer's ruling in the PrivatBank case, Kolomoisky, who is in custody in Ukraine, can spend no more than £1,000 per month, while Boholyubov is allowed £30,000.

"The version of the worldwide freezing order (WFO) made by the Court of Appeal at the earlier stage of these proceedings allowed Mr. Bogolyubov to spend £151,600 per month. In my view, the appropriate amount is £30,000 per month, which is substantially less than the amount previously allowed to Mr. Bogolyubov, but which I consider to be justified in light of the evidence and the current stage of the proceedings. Accordingly, this figure will be included in both the Consequences Order (CO) and the Freezing Order (WFO)," the decision says .

This decision is due to the fact that Boholyubov is now a debtor with huge outstanding obligations to PrivatBank – together with Kolomoisky, he has to pay the bank $3 billion .

A much stricter limit has been set for Kolomoisky, who has been in jail for more than a year.

"[Kolomoisky's lawyer Gaydon] asked for £2000 per week. In my opinion, this is a very large sum for a person in custody. As I have very little information as to what this money might be used for and Mr. Gaydon has not been given clear instructions, I consider that a reasonable limit of up to £1000 per month is appropriate," the court said in its decision .

  • The High Court of England on Monday, November 10, ordered Kolomoisky and Bogolyubov to pay PrivatBank more than $3 billion in damages and legal costs for a large-scale fraud against the bank.
  • The court set the principal amount of damages at $1.76 billion. The court also ordered Kolomoisky and Boholyubov to pay interest of $1.19 billion.
  • Ihor Kolomoisky has been in jail since September 2023 . He is suspected of misappropriating UAH 5.8 billion by fictitiously depositing cash into PrivatBank's cash desk and other crimes, including attempted contract murder .
  • Bogolyubov left Ukraine in June 2024 and was sanctioned by the National Security and Defense Council in February 2025 along with Kolomoisky. According to the latest data, , the businessman settled in Vienna .
