The Government has launched an open competition for the position of the Head of the State Customs Service. About this said prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko.

The competition committee included representatives of Ukrainian business and international experts in the field of customs policy and anti-corruption.

From Ukraine:

  • Andriy Yerashov is the head of the analytical center of the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP);
  • Dmytro Oliynyk is the Chairman of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine;
  • Oleh Tymkiv is the Director of Business Development at Moore Stephens.

From international partners:

  • Arunas Adomenas is a customs attaché of Lithuania to the EU, an expert on customs policy and international cooperation;
  • David Bernstein is an expert on governance and institutional reforms;
  • Kunio Mikuriya is an international expert on customs policy, trade facilitation and organizational leadership.

"This is an important stage in the reboot of the customs, which should become an efficient and transparent body operating in accordance with European standards," Svyrydenko emphasized.

Along with the launch of the competition, the government approved a medium-term plan for the implementation of customs reform, which is part of the National Revenue Strategy until 2030.

The State Customs Service has not had a permanent head for almost four years, since November 2021 Pavlo Riabikin moves to the Cabinet of Ministers.

After him, Vyacheslav Demchenko, Director of the Department for Combating Smuggling and Violations of Customs Rules, and then Sergey Zvyagintsev – Deputy Head of the State Customs Service.
