The United States has called on Hungary to develop a specific plan to abandon Russian energy carriers. This was stated by US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker on Fox News.

Washington expects Budapest to take real steps to gradually reduce its dependence on Russian oil.

Whitaker noted that the United States has also addressed Turkey and Slovakia with a similar demand, but, according to him, Hungary has not yet developed a strategy or demonstrated initiative in this direction.

He emphasized that Washington is committed to maintaining cooperation with Budapest and is ready to engage neighboring countries, including Croatia, that can help with the transition to alternative energy sources.

The American diplomat also said that in the hands of Donald Trump ukraine has all the necessary tools for negotiations, while Russia, he said, is losing ground on the front every week.

"This war and bloodshed must come to an end. Russia cannot move forward, moreover, it suffers losses every week in battles with Ukrainian troops."mr. Whitaker emphasized.

At the same time, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyarto emphasized that the country cannot abandon Russian energy carriers due to its geographical features.

"Energy supply should be viewed as a physical problem that should be approached with a realistic view, because it is impossible to heat or cool homes with political intent alone."siyarto said.
