Ukraine and Norway have agreed to extend the liberalization of freight transportation until March 2027. This is the third extension of the "transport visa-free regime" between the two countries, which allows Ukrainian carriers to operate without special permits. This was reported by Ministry of Development.

"The extension of transport visa-free regime with Norway is another example of Ukraine's consistent integration into the European transport space," said Oleksiy Kuleba, Minister of Communities and Territories Development .

The liberalization applies to trucks of Euro 5 and higher standard for bilateral and transit transportation. The driver must carry a certificate confirming the environmental class of the vehicle.

For the first time, Ukraine and Norway agreed on a transport visa-free regime in August 2023. Last year, Ukraine exported $553 million worth of goods to Norway.

"Such agreements make Ukrainian carriers more competitive and our logistics more stable and predictable," Kuleba added .

  • The agreement on liberalization of freight transportation between Ukraine and the EU was signed in June 2022.
  • In late September it became known that Ukraine and the EU extended the "transport visa-free regime" until 2027.
