Ukrainians gave each other almost 10,000 cars per quarter: the most popular models

In the third quarter of 2025, Ukrainians officially presented 9686 passenger cars to each other. About this reported Institute for Automotive Market Research.
Most often, cars were passed down within the family – from parents to children or between relatives. The average age of such gifts is 11 years, meaning that most often they are old but reliable cars.
The most generous month was August, when Ukrainians donated 3,286 cars. In July and September, the figure was about 3,200 cars.

The most popular car brands among gifts were:
- Volkswagen – 1053 cars;
- BMW – 895 cars;
- Toyota – 747 cars;
- Audi – 703 cars;
- Mercedes-Benz – 609 cars;
- Skoda – 450 cars;
- Hyundai – 441 cars;
- Nissan – 438 cars;
- Renault – 398 cars;
- Ford – 390 cars.
Volkswagen Passat (263 cars), Skoda Octavia (243 cars), and Toyota Camry (188 cars) are the most popular models. BMW 5 Series, X5, Audi A6, and Volkswagen Golf were also frequently given as gifts.

There were also some rare gifts: six Bentley, nine Maserati, and two Rolls-Royce and one Aston Martin each. The oldest car donated was a green Moskvich (AZLK 402) made in 1958.
In addition to cars, Ukrainians donated another 1,014 trucks, about 200 motorcycles and 85 buses over three months.
- In September 2025, Ukrainians 1454 passenger cars were written off, 323 trucks and 61 buses.
