Ukroboronprom announces "important agreement" with Patriot manufacturer

Ukroboronprom has agreed with American partners to strengthen the repair capabilities of air defense equipment supplied to Ukraine. About this said director General of Ukroboronprom Herman Smetanin.

"We had a productive meeting with representatives of RTX Corporation. We discussed cooperation on air defense systems and missiles for them," Smetanin said.

During the meeting, "we also managed to reach an important agreement that will be a significant reinforcement for the protection of Ukrainian skies," added the head of Ukroboronprom.

Smetanin did not specify what exactly he was talking about.

RTX Corporation (Raytheon Technologies) is a multinational corporation that develops and manufactures the latest technologies in the space and defense industry, including air defense systems and Patriot missiles.

In October, President Poroshenko met with representatives of the corporation during his visit to Washington, D.C Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"The parties discussed Raytheon's production capabilities, possible ways of cooperation to strengthen air defense and increase Ukraine's long-range capabilities, and prospects for Ukrainian-American production," reported Office of the President.

• U.S. Department of Defense signed a contract with Raytheon Technologies a $3.5 billion contract for the production of AMRAAM missiles and related equipment. They will be delivered to Ukraine and allied countries.
