In Kyiv, with the support of the Andrii Matiukha Foundation, first aid courses for power engineers have started

In the capital and the region, the first training sessions were held under the program "Protection of Ukrenergo repair workers" by FAST: First Aid and Special Training. Thirty-four power engineers joined the training. Their working day in the current conditions is associated with increased life-threatening risks. Now they are gaining skills that will help them survive.

During the course, participants learned how to apply tourniquets, stop bleeding, and perform wound packing. They also practiced algorithms for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and consciousness assessment. Instructors focused on practical situations that are as close to real as possible. At the end, everyone received personalized certificates.
The Andrii Matiukha Foundation supported the implementation of the project. Seventy-five training sessions are planned for repair crews and technical staff of NEC Ukrenergo. By the end of the program, about 1,500 power engineers from all over the country will gain new knowledge. This will make it possible to build a team capable of providing assistance promptly in case of an emergency.

The initiative continues the work of the Andrii Matiukha Foundation
The program for power engineers has become a practical step in the systemic work of the Andrii Matiukha Foundation. It strengthens the safety of people who provide electricity for thousands of Ukrainian families even in the darkest days.

The reasons for creating the project are obvious. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, more than 30 massive strikes on the power system have been recorded. Over 63,000 facilities have been damaged. At least 160 workers were killed, and more than 300 were injured. These figures show how vulnerable the work of repair crews is.
"Power engineers restore networks during shelling and in dangerous areas. Our task is to give them knowledge that will help save colleagues’ lives even before the ambulance arrives," noted Andrii Matiukha.
The Andrii Matiukha Foundation simultaneously continues other social initiatives. In 2025, together with Good Donations, it provided equipment for the emergency surgery department of Okhmatdyt. It also supported the art installation "Origami for Ukraine," created to draw attention to raising funds for the rehabilitation of the military.
