A house under protection. Lviv has developed a model for the rapid restoration of buildings
The three-story Art Nouveau building at 44a Konovaltsa Street in Lviv survived two world wars in the 20th century. However, in the 21st century, it was almost destroyed. On September 4, 2024, the Russians attacked Lviv struck by a Kinzhal missile, and the building was located near the epicenter of the explosion. Its roof, the courtyard-facing facade, interior walls, and the floors between the upper levels were completely destroyed.
In 2025, the building was completely restored. This is the result of the city council's "Take a House Under Your Wing" program. Under this program, private companies and business associations funded the restoration of buildings damaged in the attack. The reconstruction of Konovaltsia, 44a was paid for by the retailer ATB, amounting to almost 12 million hryvnias. In total, private companies donated 66.5 million hryvnias for the restoration.
