Arson at Lithuania Factory Supplying Equipment to Ukraine’s Military: Six Accused – video
In Lithuania, a criminal case against six foreigners, including one Russian and one Belarusian, who are accused of financing terrorism and attempting to commit terrorist attacks in the city of Siauliai in September 2024, has been brought to court. About said lithuanian police.
The target of the attacks was UAB TVC Solutions and its products – mobile radio frequency analysis stations for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, worth about 1.5 million euros.
The value of the company's property that was attempted to be destroyed is estimated at more than EUR 4 million.
Two arson attempts were recorded. on September 17, two foreigners did not complete the attack because of the appearance of passers-by and fled to Riga, where they were detained. on September 22, two more people attempted an arson attack, but did not cause any damage.
A Cuban citizen who came to assess the consequences of the sabotage and a Colombian citizen who, according to the investigation, was responsible for mediation and financing were also detained. All six are in custody in Lithuania.
The investigation continues with regard to four more suspects: one was detained in Colombia, the others were put on the international wanted list.
The investigation found that the group operated under a single scheme and could have been involved in similar sabotage in the Czech Republic, Romania and Poland.
According to Lithuanian law enforcement officials, the actions were coordinated from the territory of Russia and are linked to the Russian Main Intelligence Directorate. The goal was to intimidate society and disrupt the supply of aid to Ukraine.
The maximum penalty for participation in a terrorist organization in Lithuania is up to 15 years in prison.
