Musk regrets his posts criticizing Trump because "they went too far"
American billionaire and owner of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk has publicly admitted that he regrets some of his posts criticizing US President Donald Trump. He wrote about this on the social network X (Twitter).
"I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far," Musk wrote.
The conflict between Musk and Trump last week occurred over the US president's "one big beautiful bill" that aims to extend tax breaks and invest billions of dollars in border security.
Musk called the bill "massive, outrageous, riddled with lobbying costs," and "a disgusting abomination." He also said that without his support, Trump would have lost the election.
Musk also accused Trump of involvement in the case of financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of sex trafficking and relations with minors.
In response, Trump called Musk "crazy" and promised to end government subsidies and contracts for his companies, including SpaceX.
- The conflict between Trump and Musk has forced NASA and the Pentagon to consider reducing their dependence on SpaceX.
- The quarrel also led to the largest drop in Tesla's market value in history.
- A fragile truce in the conflict was established after representatives of both sides held a telephone conversation on Friday, June 6.
