The state agency PlayCity has started selecting civic activists to join the anti-corruption expert group that will monitor the transparency of the gambling and lottery market in Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

Candidates will be selected through voting in Diia. You can apply until July 23 at.

Representatives of non-governmental organizations that have been working in the field of combating corruption, gambling addiction, or illegal gambling for at least two years are invited to participate. It is also important to have real cases of activity.

Cannot participate in the selection:

  • current civil servants;
  • former employees of PlayCity or KRAIL (within the last 2 years) and their relatives;
  • persons related to the gambling business (owners, founders, employees or beneficiaries).

The Ministry of Digital Transformation emphasized that the goal of PlayCity is to bring the gambling industry out of the shadows and control it.

  • PlayCity was created in March 2025 to replace the Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (CRGL) to regulate the gambling business.
  • The newly created state agency is headed by Gennady Novikov, who previously was the deputy chief of staff of the CRAIL.
  • Novikov noted that the agency plans to actively cooperate with law enforcement agencies to combat casinos linked to Russia.
