Ukraine's defense concern Ukroboronprom recognized problems with the implementation of the missile program: a large part of it has been completed, but some issues remain unresolved.

The statement comes from the press service of the concern after the publication of an article by Economic Pravda, in which it is claimed that "blockage in the missile program" was one of the main reasons why Yuriy Husiev would not be appointed director of the new JSC Ukrainian Defense Industry.

LIGA.net reported that Husiev would not work for the new company last week.

"In the missile program, Husiev was not just a supervisor as the head of the concern, but a direct coordinator. There is a backlog. There is also the 'drone with a 1,000-kilometer range', but no one can find it, where it is and who produces it. And the president asks: Where are the missiles? Where are the drones?" said the interlocutor of the Economic Pravda close to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

After that, the concern announced that a significant part of the missile program, developed on behalf of the President of Ukraine by the Ukroboronprom team and approved at the highest level, was successfully completed.

"In March-April of this year, the security units of the concern conducted an inspection to determine the reasons for the non-implementation of certain measures of the missile program. The results of the official inspection for taking appropriate measures were sent to the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine and the Department of Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine on April 25 of this year," the press service said.

At the beginning of July 2019, Zelenskyy instructed to develop a missile and rocket weapons program for the period until 2030.

In August 2021, the National Security and Defense Council adopted a decision on the development of missile weapons until 2031, and the costs under this program should amount to more than UAH 200 billion ($5.4 billion).

On June 20, 2023, Ukroboronprom hinted at the successful use of a Ukrainian UAV at a distance of 1,000 km.
