Ukraine keeps vital grain exports flowing through Black Sea, despite Russian attacks
Traffic through the Ukrainian corridor has not stopped despite Russia's systematic attacks on port infrastructure, the Ministry of Infrastructure reports.
Vessel traffic continues both inbound and outbound at the ports of Greater Odesa.
Six ships with 231,000 tons of agricultural products on board have left the ports of Greater Odesa and are heading towards the Bosphorus. Five ships are waiting to enter the ports for loading.
Since August 8, 2023, 91 ships exported 3.3 million tons of agricultural and metal products, 116 ships entered the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi for loading.
On Wednesday, the Russian troops attacked a civilian ship flying the flag of Liberia when it entered one of the ports of Odesa. Three members of the crew - citizens of the Philippines were injured, the pilot died, another port worker was injured.
After withdrawing from the Black Sea Grain Initiative in July 2023, Russia began attacking Ukrainian ports both in Odesa Oblast and on the Danube.
In August, Ukraine opened a new sea route from Odesa.
On September 17, the new transport corridor to the ports of Ukraine began to work not only for the exit, but also for the entrance of ships.
