After a long break due to Russia blocking the operation of the grain corridor, dry cargoes started leaving Odesa ports again on Sunday, according to the data on the website of the United Nations.

Over the past two days, bulk carriers Elefsis with 64,000 tons of corn and Maroulio with 65,838 tons of corn left the port of Chornomorsk for the Bosphorus. Two more ships – Xin Shun (19,500 tons of barley and 44,000 tons of corn) and F-Line (17,133 tons of corn) left the port of Odesa.

The previous dry cargo left the port of Chornomorsk on May 19.

In early May, Russia completely blocked all incoming grain carriers and threatened to withdraw from the grain initiative on May 18.

Inspections resumed only after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Russia had been persuaded not to withdraw from the deal.

On May 21, it emerged that Russia refused to unblock the largest port of the grain corridor – Pivdennyi.
