Major American food companies are announcing a gradual phase-out of synthetic dyes in their products. This is according to Reuters.

This decision was a response to the initiative of US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who proposed removing synthetic food colorings to reduce the risk of developing ADHD, obesity, and diabetes in the country.

Nestle USA has announced that it will completely remove synthetic colorings from all of its food and beverage products by mid-2026.

DiGiorno pizza maker says it will remove artificial dyes within the next 12 months.

Conagra Brands, a frozen food manufacturer, plans to remove synthetic dyes by the end of 2025, and also stop supplying such products to schools in 2026–2027.

General Mills has announced that it will remove artificial colors from all of its retail products in the US by summer 2026, including breakfast cereals and school meals.

Kraft Heinz announced that it will no longer launch new products with synthetic dyes on the American market and will remove them from existing products by the end of 2027.

Also, WK Kellogg and Tyson Foods are actively working to improve their products.
