Work is currently underway to resume salt production from the deposit: a project is being developed and an environmental impact assessment is being conducted.

Experts from the State Institute of Basic Chemistry NIOCHEM are involved in the development of the project for the future salt plant. The plant is expected to be modern, environmentally friendly and efficient.

The Kharkiv-based company Planeta Comfort received a special permit to extract rock salt (halite) from the deposit in 2023. According to local authorities, its CEO takes the project seriously and scrupulously.

"The resumption of salt production in Dolyna is not just an economic project. It is a symbol of revival, a return to historical roots and the opening of new horizons for the region."dyriv said.

The Dolynske deposit is one of the oldest in Ukraine. Salt production there began in the tenth century.

Until the mid-20th century, the Dolyna Saltworks was one of the city's largest enterprises.
