Ukraine dramatically increases beer production — although still far off pre-war levels
Beer production in Ukraine increased by 112.5% in the first half of the year compared to the same period last year, however, this indicator is still well below the pre-war level, reported the industry organization of brewers Ukrpyvo.

The total volume of beer production in Ukraine (except non-alcoholic beer) for January-June 2023 amounted to 65.2 million daL. This is only 76.9% of production volumes for the six months of 2021.
By the end of 2022, the brewing industry had partially recovered after a drop in production due to the Russian invasion. However, across the board, in 2022, beer production in Ukraine decreased by 27.9% compared to 2021 — to 122.8 million daL.
On May 4, 2022, the brewing giant AB InBev moved the production of Chernihivske beer to Belgium.
In July 2023, the Danish brewing group Carlsberg lost its assets in Russia as state management was introduced at its facilities.
