Ukrainian retailer loses warehouse and $9.5M in goods in drone attack – photos
A drone attack on December 20 destroyed a frozen food warehouse belonging to Silpo (a Ukrainian retail chain) in the Boryspil district, according to Fozzy Group's Facebook page.
"On the night of December 20, an enemy UAV attack destroyed one of Silpo's warehouses storing frozen goods. No people were harmed. However, the fire caused losses exceeding 400 million UAH ($9.54 million). Our team is working to reconfigure logistics," the statement said.
The Kyiv regional emergency service reported that at 12:50 a.m., during another enemy drone attack in the Boryspil district, a warehouse covering 15,000 square meters caught fire.
The blaze was so severe that firefighters managed to extinguish it only after 15 hours.
