WSJ: McDonald's cuts prices on eight popular combo menus and introduces new offers
American fast food chain McDonald's has decided to cut prices on its popular combo menus after the price of a Big Mac reached $18 in some regions. About writes The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources.
According to the newspaper's sources, McDonald's held several weeks of negotiations with franchise owners and even offered financial support to those restaurants that agree to lower prices.
As a result, the company and its franchisees agreed to reduce the cost of eight popular combo menus by 15% of the sum of individual dishes.
In addition, they will introduce special offers: breakfasts for $5 and combos with Big Mac and McNuggets for $8, which will be advertised as meals with additional benefits.
McDonald's hopes that such steps will help make the menu more accessible to customers and increase demand for the chain's restaurants.
