In the first half of 2025, an additional 591 MW of new generation was created in the regions of Ukraine. About reported deputy Head of the Presidential Office Viktor Mykyta.

"Communities and regions are confidently pursuing energy decentralization" Mykyta noted.

The bulk of this capacity came from wind and solar power plants, as well as installations in private households. In particular:

  • 84 MW from wind power plants;
  • 101.4 MW – from solar power plants;
  • 84 MW from solar panels in private homes.

Separately, more than 320 MW of capacity was added by cogeneration units. New mini-tower plants with a total capacity of 1.2 MW were also commissioned.

"This is one of the priorities of the heads of the regional energy authorities. We are working within the framework of the developed passports of energy independence of the regions, which has become a strategic tool for the effective development of distributed generation, including gas, in all regions of Ukraine." Mykyta emphasized.

He added that such a system makes Ukraine more resilient to Russian attacks, because if one section of the network is damaged, the others will continue to work.
