The Saratov refinery is at least the third Russian refinery to be hit by drone strikes this month.

Drone attack on August 2 damages Novokuibyshevsky and Ryazan refineries in Russia.

The Saratov refinery in the Volga region has a design capacity of about 140,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Its prolonged shutdown could affect gasoline supplies in the domestic market given the seasonal increase in demand for fuel, the agency notes.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the Saratov plant was attacked by the Unmanned Systems Forces in cooperation with other units of the Defense Forces. As a result of the UAV hit, explosions and a fire were recorded on the territory of the enterprise.
