The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Mariano Grossi, came to Ukraine on March 27, and together with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant, Grossi said on Twitter.

"The Dnieper hydroelectric station is an essential part of the system that sustains the nuclear safety of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. [Ukraine's Zelenskyy] showed me the recent damage suffered by the dam," he wrote.

Russian troops hit the Dnipro HPP with missiles in December 2022.

Dnipro HPP is the first HPP built on the Dnipro River, and the penultimate stage of the Dnipro Cascade of Hydroelectric power plants. It is located in the Dniprovskyi district of Zaporizhzhya. The installed capacity of the station for January 2022 was 1578.6 MW. Dnipro HPP consists of two power plants: Dnipro HPP-1 and Dnipro HPP-2, which form a single complex located under one dam. There are 10 hydro units installed at Dnipro HPP-1, and eight hydro units at Dnipro HPP-2.
