The Ministry of Energy convened an emergency meeting of the G7+ coordination group due to increased Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy facilities. The ministry's website reports that the meeting discussed priority needs to restore damaged infrastructure.

Deputy Energy Minister Roman Andarak told partners about the consequences of the October 3, 2025, shelling, which Naftogaz called the strongest blow to the gas production sector during the full-scale war.

"This is an obvious attempt to deprive Ukrainians of light and heat in the fall and winter. The Russians have not abandoned their intention to plunge Ukraine into darkness on the eve of the new heating season," he said.

The G7+ Coordination Group is an initiative established in November 2022 to coordinate and mobilize donors to help Ukraine repair, rebuild and protect its energy infrastructure. The members of the group are the G7 countries along with additional partners, including Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Norway, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, the United States, the European Union, the Energy Community Secretariat, the World Bank, the EBRD, UNDP and others.

The Deputy Minister spoke about the critical needs for the rapid restoration of damaged facilities: physical and air defense systems, additional gas volumes, power equipment for restoration and repairs.

Thanks to the support of its international partners, Ukraine managed to successfully survive the three previous military winters and promptly carry out the necessary repairs. Andarak expressed hope for continued support from partners.
