British rolling plant Spartan UK, which is part of the group Metinvest has signed a contract to supply 1,600 tons of steel plates for the construction of the new Sizewell C nuclear power plant in Suffolk, England. About said the company's press service.

This is one of the largest energy projects in the UK in recent decades.

Sizewell C is expected to provide electricity to up to 6 million households and create about 10,000 jobs at the peak of construction.

According to Spartan UK Sales Manager Ian Robinson, the first shipment of 800 tons of steel sheets will be delivered in August, and the rest in the third quarter of 2025.

Construction of the plant has not yet begun, but the first visualizations of the facility have been published.

This project will be the largest public investment in clean energy in the UK in the 21st century.
