On the night of January 20, Russian forces launched another strike on a Centrenergo power plant, according to the company's press service.

There were no casualties in the attack.

The total losses from previous strikes have exceeded €250 million ($260 million) and continue to rise due to extensive damage, the company stated.

"Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the company's thermal power plants have been targeted more than 50 times. In the spring of 2024, Centrenergo became the only company forced to cease power generation due to mass attacks completely," the statement read.

Centrenergo, a publicly traded company, is one of Ukraine's leading energy enterprises, specializing in the production of electricity and heat. Its facilities include three thermal power plants: Zmiivska TPP (Kharkiv Oblast), Vuhlehirska TPP (Donetsk Oblast), and Trypilska TPP (Kyiv Oblast), with a total installed capacity of 7,690 MW—approximately 14% of Ukraine's overall power plant capacity.

However, the full-scale Russian invasion has inflicted significant damage on Centrenergo:

→ July 25, 2022: Russian forces occupied Vuhlehirska TPP.

→ March 22, 2024: All units of Zmiivska TPP were destroyed.

→ April 11, 2024: Trypilska TPP was demolished in a combined Russian attack involving drones and missiles.
