Ukraine has recorded the smallest water reserves in a decade. By the fall, they promise to accumulate

In 2025, the water reserves in the reservoirs managed by Ukrhydroenergo were the lowest in the last decade due to the low spring floods. About said the company's press service.

Ukrhydroenergo not only produces electricity but is also responsible for water supply to consumers. To do this, it is necessary to maintain a stable water level, but now it is much lower than last year.

At the same time, Ukrhydroenergo assures that it is doing everything possible to accumulate sufficient reserves by the fall.

To do this, water will be used as rationally as possible, preparing hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) and pumped storage plants (PSPPs) for winter.

At the same time, the company is carrying out reconstruction and scheduled repairs of HPPs and PSPs, as well as restoring and protecting its facilities.

"This is a unique experience for hydropower companies to hold all these events and implement projects at the same time," Ukrhydroenergo said.

• As of August 5, Ukraine has accumulated more than 10 billion cubic meters of gas in underground storage facilities. This year's stocks remain the lowest in at least 12 years.
