As of this morning, electricity production in Ukraine covers consumption, reported NPC Ukrenergo.

"Currently, the electricity produced by power plants of all types is sufficient to ensure the energy supply of all commercial and household consumers," the message reads.

As a result of warming, the daily maximum consumption on December 17 was 4.4% lower compared to December 10. At the same time, electricity consumption is seasonally at a high level, so Ukrenergo urges Ukrainians to spare energy.

There is no electricity export on December 18. Import is planned for almost the whole day from Slovakia, Romania and Moldova with a total volume of 6,371 MWh. From December 1, the technical possibility of importing electricity from Europe to Ukraine and Moldova is 1,700 MW.

Due to inclemencies, as of the morning of December 18, 183 settlements in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy oblasts were without power. In Donetsk Oblast, 130 settlements have been without power supply for more than a day.

"Due to hostilities and other reasons, 454 settlements remain without electricity. Due to the shelling, there is new damage to Oblenergo networks in Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Kherson oblasts. Emergency and restoration work is being carried out, depending on the security situation and with the permission of the military," reads the message.

On December 14, 2023, Ukrenergo became a full member of the European network of operators ENTSO-E.

Ukraine will receive 150 million euros from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to support Ukrenergo in the winter season.
