The Ministry of Energy of Lithuania offered to disassemble its closed thermal power plants into spare parts for the Ukrainian energy system, Ukraine's Energy Minister German Halushchenko said on national television.

"I had a conversation with the minister of energy of Lithuania. They offered to use their thermal stations, which are closed. To use them as donors, that is, there is an opportunity to disassemble and get the spare parts we need," he said.

Halushchenko added that other countries are also helping Ukraine cope with the consequences of Russian attacks against the energy sector.

At the same time, according to the official, the best defense is to strengthen Ukraine's air defense system.

Anti-aircraft defense managed to shoot down 55 Shahed UAVs and 37 missiles. Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the chairman of the board of NPC Ukrenergo, called it the biggest attack on the energy system of Ukraine during the war.

Another powerful attack took place on March 29. Then the Russians used 60 Shaheds and 39 missiles, and the air defense managed to shoot down 58 drones and 26 missiles.

As a result of the strikes, the Dnipro HPP in Zaporizhzhya, the Kharkiv CHP-5, the Zmiyiv TPP of the Centrenergo company, the Burshtyn and Ladyzhyn TPPs of the DTEK company were destroyed.
