Bolt, Uklon, and Uber ask to allow night transportation in Kyiv. The head of the KCIA responded
Taxi services Bolt, Uklon, and Uber have appealed to the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) regarding nighttime transportation during the curfew. About reported head of KMWA Timur Tkachenko.
According to the letter, which citation interfax-Ukraine news agency, the companies propose to introduce a model similar to Lviv in Kyiv or develop an improved mechanism.
"We are convinced that this problem can be solved. As the example of Lviv shows, digital platforms have been able to successfully resume nighttime services thanks to a mechanism agreed with the city authorities that works properly and benefits all parties," the taxi service managers said in the letter.
At the same time, they emphasized that the media have recently published articles about "shadow" passenger transportation during curfews.
The head of the KMIA said that any "gray schemes", illegal passes and the black market for night taxis would be destroyed: "We are aware of people's needs, but I want to emphasize that the safety of the capital is above all.".
According to Tkachenko, the authorities are currently working with law enforcement agencies to develop a clear mechanism for taxi operations during the curfew.
"And if night transportation is allowed, it should be done legally, under strict control and responsibility."tkachenko added.
