In Kyiv, traffic will be restricted for a year at the intersection of two highways: the bridge will be repaired
In Kyiv, from July 3 to approximately August 2026, traffic will be partially restricted on the overpass at the intersection of Mykola Bazhan Avenue and Dniprovska Naberezhna. This was announced by Kyivautodor.
The traffic restrictions are due to the start of major repairs to the overpass near the "Osokorky" metro station. The work will be carried out in stages.
In the first stage, traffic will be restricted to half of the overpass on Dniprovska Naberezhna in the direction of Osokorky. Traffic in both directions will be on the opposite side of the overpass.
During the major repairs, traffic on the overpass will be carried out according to a temporary scheme.
The overpass near the "Osokorky" metro station is relatively new, built in 1990, but a 2023 inspection revealed significant defects: wear of waterproofing, destruction of reinforced concrete structures, exposure and corrosion of reinforcement, cracking and delamination of concrete.
Major repairs involve the complete replacement of the overpass, including the installation of new supports, span beams, bridge deck, etc.
The repair will be carried out by the company "Ukrtransmist", the cost of the work is 655.33 million UAH.
- Starting February 8, 2025 , a bridge near the "Darnytsia" metro station in Kyiv will be closed for ten months. This is due to the reconstruction of the overpass.
- Due to repairs, traffic on the Southern Bridge in Kyiv, which connects the left and right banks of the Dnieper River, is partially restricted until August. The works have been ongoing since March.
- From May 9th, approximately until the end of 2025, traffic will be partially restricted on the bridge over the Desenka River in the direction of the "Pochaina" metro station.
