Polish farmers unblock largest checkpoint on border with Ukraine

Polish protesters unblocked the largest cargo crossing point with Ukraine – Dorohusk-Yahodyn, reported the State Border Guard Service.

Their blockade at this checkpoint lasted two and a half months.

"Today at 1 p.m., the protest of Polish farmers at the Dorohusk-Yahodyn crossing point, which had been going on since February 9, ended. Registration and passage of goods vehicles across the border in both directions is carried out as usual," the message reads.

The information about the unblocking of the checkpoint was also confirmed by the State Customs Service.

Last week, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk appealed to Polish farmers to stop blocking the border with Ukraine.

Polish farmers started a nationwide protest on February 9. They began to obstruct traffic at checkpoints with Ukraine, spilling Ukrainian grain from trucks and wagons.

At the beginning of March, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the situation with Poland has gone beyond economics and morality.
