On Thursday, May 22, a landslide occurred on the Yasinya - Voronenko railway section in the Carpathians, causing the track to sink and temporarily suspending train traffic. The accident will take two to three days to resolve, said Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia Oleksandr Pertsovsky .

"We started restoration work right away at night without any 'warm-up'. The site is not easy: the work front is 50 meters, the height of the embankment is up to 18 meters. All the necessary equipment and personnel are on site, and we are continuously supplying 'choppers' with gravel," Pertsovsky wrote.

Passengers to/from Yasinya, Kvasy, Rakhiv stations will be temporarily transported by bus.

"We will continue to work 24/7 until the danger is completely eliminated. Some neighboring railroads, based on experience, close traffic for two to three weeks for smaller situations (until they find a contractor, negotiate, etc.), while we aim to do it in two to three days," Pertsovsky said .
