Polish businesses are actively preparing to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in an interview with Wprost.

When questioned about the possibility of German, French, and American companies taking precedence in the reconstruction efforts in Ukraine, Morawiecki confidently stated that he doesn't fear being pushed aside. He emphasized that over a thousand Polish companies have already expressed a keen interest in investing in Ukraine, indicating that Poland's involvement in the country's restoration will not be overshadowed.

The head of government noted that Ukraine has adopted the relevant legislation, which gives Polish companies a privileged position compared to other enterprises.

"The same applies to Polish citizens. Therefore, together we will be able to restore Ukraine, Poland can benefit greatly from this," said Morawiecki.

The prime minister confirmed that the negotiations with the Ukrainian government on this matter continue, the issue of Poland's participation in the restoration of Ukraine was also raised during the recent meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Aachen.

When asked whether the government would provide any support to Polish entrepreneurs who would like to invest in Ukraine, Morawiecki emphasized that work on such programs is underway.

On April 5, 2023, President Zelenskyy invited Polish businesses to Ukraine, saying "The sooner you come, the more you will earn".

On April 11, the Ministry of Finance of Poland announced that they want to become a financial hub for collecting funds for the restoration of Ukraine.

On April 27, the former head of Ukrzaliznytsia Wojciech Balczun became a consultant for projects of Polish companies on the reconstruction of Ukraine.
