Ukrposhta recorded UAH 1.26 billion in losses in 2022
Ukraine’s state postal company Ukrposhta ended the year 2022 with UAH 1.26 billion in actual losses, it said in a statement on Thursday.
UAH 216.9 million of Ukrposhta’s losses was due to lost assets in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson, Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and another UAH 402.1 million, foreign exchange losses from currency fluctuations.
In 2021, Ukrposhta had a net profit of UAH 183.5 million.
In a statement, the company explained that the 2022 losses were due to the company being unable to provide services in full in Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories.
"Ukrposhta recorded losses in 2022, but given the measures taken, we are confident about 2023 and will do everything to return to profit while continuing to support the state," Igor Smelyansky, Ukrposhta’s CEO, was quoted as saying.

The volume of parcels sent within and beyond Ukraine in 2022 was similar to that of the previous year.
"Thanks to the profits of previous years and measures to preserve cash, Ukrposhta maintained a strong liquidity position in 2022, which allowed it to maintain operations without a cash deficit, meet its financial obligations in a timely manner and restart its capital investment programme," the company stressed.
In 2022, Ukrposhta paid UAH 2.9 billion in taxes, duties, and mandatory payments.
