The Energy Community Secretariat published a report regarding the implementation of European obligations in the field of energy among the countries of the community for 2023, including Ukraine, according to the press service of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC).

The report contains an assessment of Ukraine's compliance with Energy Community norms for the period from November 2022 to October 2023.

Ukraine is fulfilling 59% of all obligations, and this is the second best result after Serbia.

The evaluation of countries implementing norms is carried out according to five key obligations (clusters).

- Ukraine's progress under the "Energy Markets and Integration" cluster is estimated at 69%;

- Decarbonization of the energy sector – 44%

- Ensuring energy security – 61%;

- Environmental protection – 52%;

- Activity of regulatory bodies – 76%.

Thus, despite the state of war, Ukraine managed to achieve tangible results in the reform of the electric energy and natural gas market, according to NEURC.

The commission adds that maintaining this pace next year will contribute to progress in the further implementation of European rules as a prerequisite for Ukraine's accession to the EU and will have a positive impact on Ukrainian consumers and energy market participants.
